Soccer: Girls
Welcome to Yorkville Middle School Girls Soccer. Girls Soccer is a spring sport and runs from mid March to mid May. Tryouts are held in mid March, just prior to Spring Break.
The YMS Girls Soccer Team is part of the Paw Pac Conference and competes against teams from Plainfield. Each contest includes two games. The first game consists of two 30-minute halves and the second game consists of two 15-minute halves. Once the regular season has ended, a single elimination conference tournament is held.
The soccer team is a developmental competitive program that includes girls from both seventh and eighth grade. The program goals consist of developing skills to get our athletes ready for the next level, the importance of competing every day, building program traditions and expectations, and hard work. The coaching staff collaborates with the high school coaches in planning practices while mirroring and modifying drills used at the high school level.
Team members are encouraged to attend the summer soccer camps that are held at the high school and summer strength training at YMS.
During the season, practices are held every day after school from 2:45-4:30 p.m.
Tryouts are March 19, 20, & 21 from 2:45-4:30 p.m
A current sports physical must be submitted prior to the first day of tryouts. Physicals are good for 13 months from the date of examination.
